I hold a Bachelor in Anthropology (National University of Colombia) and a Research Master's degree in History (Los Andes University, Colombia).

I am a PhD candidate at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR) affiliated to the Department of Human Geography, Planning and International Development Studies and GID Group. My research interests include maritime culture, contested marine borders, transboundary practices, maritime territory and ocean governance.

My PhD project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Maarten Bavinck and Prof. Dr. Joyeeta Gupta and it is conducted on a contested marine border in the West Caribbean.
