Daniel Gómez Uribe is a PhD candidate in the programme group Political Economy and Transnational Governance (PETGOV).

His research focuses on civilian and rebel group relationships. He is interested in the nature, type of interactions and local dynamis taking place during civil war. How local life, and local conflicts, shape and are shaped by civil war dynamics. Daniel investigates also adaptation of non-state armed groups to contexts of large-scale extraction of natural resources. He has conducted fieldwork in rural Colombia. 

He holds a cum laude Erasmus Mundus MA in Public Policy (funded by the European Union) from the International Institute of Social Studies (The Hague) and the University of York (UK). He studied Political Science at the National University of Colombia and Journalism at the University of Antioquia.
