Who is designing your future? Why and how we need to elect women at all levels of government
Lecture by Victora Budson (Women and Public Policy Program, Harvard Kennedy School of Government)
Why are women the minorities in so many elective bodies in North America and Europe, and why is this problematic? Victoria Budson will answer these questions drawing on decades of experience as an elected and appointed leader in American politics and as founder of the ‘From Harvard Square to the Oval Office: A Political Campaign Practicum’ (Oval Office), a non-partisan initiative of the Women and Public Policy Program that provides graduate students with the training and support they need to ascend in the electoral process at the local, state and national levels. Taking the current political climate in the United States as its case she will explain what universities and students can do to engage, recruit, and train women as future political leaders. Politics is too important to leave to men.
