I am a Postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology of the University of Amsterdam. I work on a longitudinal interdisciplinary project about democratic core values and educational careers among adolescents ('Adolescentenpanel Democratische Kernwaarden en Schoolloopbanen'). This is a collaboration between the Departments of Political Science, Sociology, and Educational Sciences of the University of Amsterdam, and ProDemos, the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, and The Netherlands Institute for Social Research.
I completed my Ph.D at the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS) at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. I studied trends in cultural conservatism in the Netherlands and Europe, and the role of educational expansion, secularisation, and changing national contexts in explaining these trends.
My research interests include public atttitudes and conservative/progressive values, religion, (political) socialisation, education, gender, interethnic relations, and quantitative research methods.
