We would like to cordially invite you to the Global Digital Cultures Soirée, which will take place on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, between 18:00 and 21:00, at Kaptein Zeppos in 'Claire's Ballroom’.

UPDATE: We regret to inform you that this event has been canceled due to renewed COVID regulations.

Stay tuned for news and upcoming GDC on-site and hybrid events

The objective is to stage lively debate and stimulate fruitful exchanges between Amsterdam-based researchers working on Global Digital Cultures across the humanities, social sciences, and economics.

This time, we turn to questions of the aesthetic dimension of digital transformation across diverse contexts with Nishant Shah and Ellen Rutten, who, among other topics, will discuss their respective books with us: Really Fake, and Imperfections Studies in Mistakes, Flaws, and Failures. After brief presentations from these scholars, the floor will be open for questions and comments from participants. To prepare the discussion, we will send you one short text by each of these speakers.

Of course, a soirée involves food and drinks; the evening will start with drinks and dinner will be served around 19:30.

You can register (for free) through the link below. In order to plan the dinner, we need to know how many people are attending and if they have any dietary preferences, so please register before November 29.

We look forward to seeing you on December 8!

All the best, Thomas Poell & Rivke Jaffe
