The central questions during this day will be:
- How is the world changing?
- How should the social sciences change?
- How may the social sciences contribute to changing the world?
Keynote lectures
The AISSR is proud to announce the three keynote speakers of the Harvest Day 2023, who will shed a light and their vision on the above main questions, focusing on three specific themes:
- Maarten Hajer on Climate & Democracy. Aftertalk with Karen Paiva Henrique.
- Philomena Essed on Intersectionality & Social Justice. Aftertalk with Maggi Leung.
- Eelke Heemskerk on Digital & Computational Science. Aftertalk with Roanne van Voorst.
All three keynote speakers have a connection, affiliation or history with the AISSR and are experts in their fields. Their lectures will be followed by an insightful discussion with an AISSR researcher.
Afternoon program
The second part of the day, all participants will collaborate in workshops to further address the three main questions. We will form a vision and agenda for the direction of the social sciences and the AISSR in particular.
