I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Human Geography, Planning and International Development (GPIO) at the University of Amsterdam, working with the Governance and Inclusive Development (GID) research group on the Water Allocation & Rights project, and the BluePrint project for Water Security in collaboration with the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED).
I hold a PhD in Water Resources Management from the Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) and the United Nations University, where I developed and tested a framework for assessing risk and sustainability in situations of water scarcity and reuse. Before joining UvA, I worked on (resource) Nexus-related projects and coordinating stakeholder engagement. This continues to inform my interest in bridging scientific knowledge and practical solutions for water governance.
My research focuses on decision-making for sustainable water resources management, with particular attention to water scarcity, rights frameworks, and water reuse. I am currently developing a global water atlas mapping water use permits, alongside an assessment framework to evaluate water security considering available water resources, infrastructure, and institutions.
Glocal Water Governance: Developing a global water atlas on water use permits and an assessment framework to evaluate water security based on resources, infrastructure, and institutional capacity.
