I'm an assistant professor in our research group on Governance and Inclusive Development, focusing largely on environmental justice and political ecology of marine environments. I am teaching in our graduate programme International Development Studies and supervise students on themes including environmental conflict, fisheries governance and the political ecology of food security. My research interests converge around conflicting usage of marine environments and contested claims around fish production for food security. While working mostly in Sri Lanka and India, more recently my interests in fisheries and food security has brought about new collaborations in Norway, Ghana, Senegal, lake Victoria region and South Africa.
