Navigating Challenges and Urgency in Feminist Pedagogies Amidst Rising Opposition
Teaching gender, sexuality, intersectionality, and decolonial academic content and deploying feminist pedagogies in higher education has become increasingly challenging over recent years. The contemporary political environment is characterized by overtones of sexism, misogyny and racism, post-truth authoritarian populisms, as well as the rise of neo-fascist movements. Precisely due to this current unfolding context, the task of feminist teaching in higher education has never been more urgent, requiring careful responses, strategies and interventions.
To facilitate a space where we as feminist scholars and teachers can share challenging experiences, reflect collectively on our teaching conditions, and discuss possible strategies in a supportive, informal manner, ARC-GS organizes a series of three lunch meetings. In each meeting, colleagues will start the conversation by presenting a case from their own experience.
Lunch will be provided for participants who register at least three working days in advance.
